Arla's Aimless Anecdotes

This is my attempt to write one occasional email to various people at one time. I specifically write with my cousin Judy in mind. Since we grew up together we agreed in our teens that we'd always try to keep in contact. This is a supplement to our twice yearly phone calls and our once yearly visit at our Johanson Family Memorial Day Reunion.

Global Cooling?

We are in a Winter Wonderland here. It just keeps snowing. I’m pretty cozy under my comforter but I will get up and shovel in a while. If I don’t shovel I can’t get my car out of the garage and that’s fine too as I get to stay home all day. It is very beautiful outside.

Peyton and Walker tried sledding for the first time during their visit. The four boys had a great time going down a big hill near the house. They even made a jump so they could get airborne to add a few thrills. It kept them all quiet for a few days. They were all so good and enjoyed playing with one another. They didn’t appreciate the separate table I set up for them for dinner as they only jumped around and no one but Miles ate a bite. Remember our card table at the end of the big table in our kitchen?

Speaking of Miles he is 5 today. He only likes Star Wars stuff so I’m giving him Boba Fett’s helmet. He has to correct the way I say that name every time.
Yesterday he had a kids’ party at Chuck E. Cheese and today he has a family party at home. He’s very happy with himself especially now that he’s so old.

Amazon has been delivering my gifts to the house and I can’t thank them enough. It is so easy to go shopping with them. And it is so nice not decorating. In fact when Cyd left she took a big box of Christmas decorations and a big box of old precious memories (junk). Now I just have to find a place for my mom’s fur cape, all the picture postcards she’s ever received and her never-used new handkerchiefs.

Here’s where I’d love to post your new hairstyle but I can’t find a way to get a photo. I think any brunette who dyed her hair for 50 years and wore it in a pony tail for at least than long would make a news worthy addition. So I’ll think of Leslie Stahl and try to imagine the new Judy.

Actually I don't look like Leslie Stahl because my "Bangs" keep curling up. It is interesting to confront my wavy hair after 60 years.
But I am tired of discussing my hair. I will be glad when I have seen everyone I know with my new do so that I don't have to discuss my haircut and explain that I have not colored my hair. For some reason it looks darker and everyone comments on that fact.
There are other bigger issues to discuss as why is it snowing so much in Spokane when we supposedly have "global warming".
It must be Obama's fault. He gets blamed for everything these days.

Arla, again, just wanted you to know I enjoy your blog so much. Its the only way I stay up on your kids and grandkids. Ha ha you have way more "kids" at your house than I do. I only have two grown men left!
