Arla's Aimless Anecdotes

This is my attempt to write one occasional email to various people at one time. I specifically write with my cousin Judy in mind. Since we grew up together we agreed in our teens that we'd always try to keep in contact. This is a supplement to our twice yearly phone calls and our once yearly visit at our Johanson Family Memorial Day Reunion.

Abode of Peace

I love the name. Thanks for sending it. I also saw Land of Peace, House of Peace and Let there be Peace. I don’t really have anything to say but then I never really do anyway. I’ve been hiding in the house for the past few days under the pretense of a cold. I know I used to go to work with a cold but now I’ve given up and just want to be a blob in my sweats. Maybe tomorrow I will get out and walk with the neighbors again. I even missed cookie baking with the Lind ladies so yesterday I did bake 7 dozen cookies from the dough I didn’t take to Ronald McDonald's.

Your Picasa website does not have the Sukau photos up. What is taking so long? I’m going to have to travel with camera people who are expedient with their photo postings. There must be a way the program organizes them according to the date they were taken? Anyway I know you’ve been goofing around in the sunshine rather than staying inside with your computer tasks.

Claire and I spent a week at Cyd’s which turned out to be too long as Cyd suggested the boys do better with a shorter visit. We tried to give them all the attention we could but maybe that was the problem. Peyton and Walker are busy going to a pre-Kindergarten class three days a week. Peyton loves to color and write things and Walker enjoys organizing people and belongings.

Lucas is now 8 years old and he has no booster seat in the car and can attend Judo with his parents twice a week. He seems to like it all. His party was a loud ruckus with many activities that the boys seemed to enjoy including face painting, pumpkin carving, cookie decorating, and eyeball relay races. I was exhausted when it was over and it wasn’t even at my house. Lucas’ mom says all parties will be a Laser Quest or a Jump and Bounce from here on out.

Too bad you aren’t on Facebook any more as you could check out Mark’s girlfriend and see some of his bird and animal photos. I was hoping you could please send me the list of birds we saw so I can impress my professional bird watcher friend, Sally. Maybe even Uncle Ronnie. Good luck with your photo posting.
