Arla's Aimless Anecdotes

This is my attempt to write one occasional email to various people at one time. I specifically write with my cousin Judy in mind. Since we grew up together we agreed in our teens that we'd always try to keep in contact. This is a supplement to our twice yearly phone calls and our once yearly visit at our Johanson Family Memorial Day Reunion.

OK, so you don't like my idea of writing down little bits of my day and then comparing them to little bits of your day but then you don't have a cell phone so that may make a difference. I spent some time in the middle of the night trying to find a small photo to put on the site and also reading to find out what it was even about. I also fussed about posting your photo at the Cape of Good Hope and since I can't seem to post only one photo I'm just giving a link to your Kodak site. The photos are very nice.

Esther, Linda’s new granddaughter, has had many baby showers and Cyd and I attended one last week. I think they may have to rent a storage unit to contain all the items she has been gifted to date. Peyton and Walker continued to entertain me for several days in Sumner. We went to the Pumpkin Patch, played in their yard and I marveled at the fact that these little boys are finally consistently potty-trained. Happy Halloween from Peyton

So far no one wants to comment about Memorial Day. I talked to Diana yesterday and she did say that Katie and John have a new son, Jake Edgar. McKenna was giving Diana, the babysitter, a run for her money by refusing to take a nap. Cydney said she had to let her cry for one hour before giving up but Diana could only listen to her for 20 minutes before she caved. Believe me I know a lot about how important naptime is for grandmas.

I want to answer Hank’s question about why I’m a Republican. I’m afraid I’d have to ramble on for pages and pages until I discovered I could just shorten it by the saying I’m not one for sharing the wealth. I’m happy to share with those who are trying desperately to improve their lot in life but mostly I’m for little government and much independent endeavor. Actually I am sending in my ballot today and I will be happy when we can move on.

Today Miles and I are going to music class so I need to get going so I'll be the winner of this day. Miles likes to win too you know.
