Since you are there visiting I’m writing in case you are using the hotel email services. It is exciting just to be writing to this city so I know you must be enjoying the sights there. I can’t imagine how it will be when you get to your work site which is a flight from where you now are to Uppington and then three hours by road to the Earthwatch site. It will be lots of togetherness for you 5 women and Hank in addition to the staff there. I’m glad you are fond of meerkats, still the best part is being in South Africa.

Lucas is busy with soccer now and I’ve taken a long video to insert here but I’ve decided I need a very short video to add. Last week Lucas lost a shoe, cried when the other team made a goal and then finally got it together and made two goals himself, after first running onto the field to help out his team while he was being sidelined.

The group we went with to Mississippi last year is on its way towards another work week in the Gulf but they will have a quiet time without the two of us badgering one another about work procedures. While they were such a nice group the public praying was difficult to get used to for some of us who like to internalize our self talk.

Miles drew a picture for me the other day. When I asked him what he drew for me he said “It’s a wine bottle for you, grandma.” I can’t figure out how a two year old would come up with that idea but now I will start drinking all my beverages from only a coffee cup. When he is thinking of what to draw for me I’m hoping he’ll think of walking, swimming, laughing, computing or shopping.
