Older, not Wiser
It was nice to hear from you by phone this past week since it is typically one of the two times we visit during the year. This year has been different however. I’m surprised you haven’t heard of the Wiggles but now you’ll know. I also wrote about them here before back in April 2005. I’ve been waiting for the group to come to the Seattle area so the twins and I could attend. When they appeared on stage, Peyton went wild, jumping and wiggling to the music while Walker sat calmly looking at the crowd wondering what in the world was happening.
That was the highlight of my special day and the rest of the weekend was spent helping Cyd go through all the old things from my house that I made her take home over the past years. Her stained, old Raggety Ann, handmade doll clothes, and special childhood toys went in the garbage. The boys played with the Humpty Dumpty my mom had made but they weren’t very interested. I wanted her to keep all that stuff but it was not appealing at all so maybe now I can throw stuff away at my house before I send it her way.
You are an AARP reader so I hope you’ll notice Jaime Leigh Curtis on the cover of this month’s periodical. She is copying us by letting her hair turn gray but I think she’s a little overboard with her black and white clothing.
I see we have some communication going about Memorial Day. I think Lucas and Miles will be there this year so I’m happy about that. Maybe you and Leslie are making detailed plans for the weekend now while she’s at your house. Nancy and I will hear about her Chicago visit on Friday when we get to Portland.
Two mice expired in traps last week but since then no mice signs are about. I’m endorsing the use of electronic rodent eliminators.
