Arla's Aimless Anecdotes

This is my attempt to write one occasional email to various people at one time. I specifically write with my cousin Judy in mind. Since we grew up together we agreed in our teens that we'd always try to keep in contact. This is a supplement to our twice yearly phone calls and our once yearly visit at our Johanson Family Memorial Day Reunion.

101

We have had a warm week so fortunately Pool World saved the day with a functioning pump. On Wednesday we had 20 people here and kids stayed in the water all day. Hopefully the 30 year old pool stays running for a few more years so the little boys enjoy it. Lucas is the only swimmer so far but the others are eagerly struggling to jump in.

Jill now is on My Space to recount her parachuting experience and life to date and Pat has followed suit. Just contact them and you too might be lucky with an invitation to join their group of friends. There’s even talk of a Johanson My Space which might be interesting for those of us who have no life without our computers.

So far the highlight of Peyton and Walker’s stay at Grandma’s has been the Thursday lawn mowers. The twins are fascinated by anything with wheels and a motor. It has to be a genetic trait but it might be better than collecting sticks for weapons. Maybe that comes next.

Hope you are staying cool in Chicago. I have new boots that I found on a clearance table outside Big 5. I’d tell you the price but you’d be jealous.

Hurray for bargain boots and mostly Pool World for the pump tho' I'm sure it wasn't a bargain.
I noticed that your weather was steaming so glad you had the pool.
What happened with Ray's trip to Seattle?
8 and 1/2 weeks to Kenya!

Boy I sure liked anything with wheels and a motor, as well as... well... You know what else.
Tell me the price of those boots.
