Arla's Aimless Anecdotes

This is my attempt to write one occasional email to various people at one time. I specifically write with my cousin Judy in mind. Since we grew up together we agreed in our teens that we'd always try to keep in contact. This is a supplement to our twice yearly phone calls and our once yearly visit at our Johanson Family Memorial Day Reunion.

Cyd is 40

It really does give you a wake up call when your daughter reaches 40. Everything is downhill from here. I guess it's been downhill for a while now. I said I wasn't leaving town again and now here I'm going to Cyd's for two days. Nancy is driving up from Medford tomorrow and I'm leaving here after I drop my mom off at bridge. We should both arrive at Cyd's about the same time. Barb is coming on Friday afternoon and then the real shopping, eating and gossiping will begin. I think we have plans for a dinner out on Saturday night for the actual celebration.

We will all leave early Sunday so we can be home early too. Brett is leaving for Tampa early Monday morning so I get to have Lucas spend Sunday night with me. That takes lots of preparation so that I have things in order for his needs. He can be very demanding at times and I want to have backup items in place. That way by morning I can be the one who was in charge.

My mom is feeling much better and that is good. She is very confused about which day it is and what is happening next. Today she was sure she was to play pinochle at 4 when yesterday she just did that and it only happens once a week. I went in her house while she was at bingo and gathered up three sacks of garbage. Mostly it was junk mail, old monthly calendars and stored up magazines.

I'm not hearing from the Chiwawa people. I wonder how the visit went with Regina. I read in the church bulletin that Jack Hardy died and I didn't hear about his funeral. I've been trying to get Charlie to see how he likes the new job.
